Who We Are

The Hakai Network is formed by a composite of scholars, scientists, First Nations, community partners and other skilled individuals from around the country. Many are based at SFU, Bella Bella, and the Hakai Beach Institute on Calvert Island BC.

A Steering Committee liaises with coastal communities to direct the research goals of the network. We foster the growth of young scientists by employing a selection of environmental graduate students and post doctoral researchers as Hakai Scholars and Research Assistants. Affiliates from all over are invited to participate in our research programs.
