Description, Habitat, Ecology, & Distribution:
This species is commonly known in English
as Indian consumption plant and among Halkomelem speakers generally
only by its Halkomelem name. It is a small herbaceous perennial that
grows in dry, open, often pebbly to sandy areas at low to middle elevations.
It has yellow flowers that develop into small, flat fruits that resemble
rolled oats and are usually thought of as "seeds." It occurs in southwestern
British Columbia south to southern Oregon.
