UBC & SFU Building Connections Symposium

Building Connections: UBC & SFU Well-being in Learning Environments Symposium

UBC Health Promotion & Education and SFU Health Promotion are proud to collaborate on the first ever Building Connections: UBC & SFU Well-being in Learning Environments Symposium. The symposium is a free full-day event that connects SFU and UBC faculty, educators and staff around the topic of how well-being relates to teaching practices and learning environments.

Through interactive talks and breakout sessions, attendees will learn about best practices and theories related to creating conditions for well-being in learning environments, share their own practices and experiences, and connect with other like-minded faculty and staff. Attendees will also have the opportunity to consider students’ point of view of well-being, institutional support, and campus experiences, while providing their input on how both institutions can better support well-being in learning environments.

We welcome all UBC and SFU faculty, educators and staff to join us on Thursday, May 7, 2020, from 8:00am to 4:30pm at SFU Harbour Centre. For more details and to reserve your spot, please visit our official Eventbrite page. We look forward to learning with you!

Please email us at wellbeing.learning@ubc.ca should you have any questions regarding this event.

Call for Proposals - Now Open

To draw on the wealth of knowledge across the two institutions, SFU and UBC educators and faculty are invited to submit a proposal for round table discussions focused on sharing strategies and practices for well-being in learning environments.
