We're sorry we can't see you walk the stage in person this Spring, but we still want to see you and celebrate with you!
The Department of History invites you and your family to celebrate your accomplishments at a pre-convocation virtual gathering. Join your friends, professors and staff from the Department of History on June 11 at 4:30PM for a 30-minute Zoom celebration.
Zoom meeting link and password will be distributed to registered email addresses by email approxinately 2 hours prior to the event start.
We hope to see you there!
TECHNOLOGY AND EVENT REQUIREMENTS
Registration is open to SFU History students and their families, faculty, and staff. All interested attendees must registered at the Eventbrite.ca link provided.
Graduating students are permitted to invite their guests to celebrate with them but they must register their guests prior to June 11th.
Set your Zoom display name to your registered name. We will admit incoming attendees into the session according to the registration list so your display name should match the one you registered with.
The event link and password will be sent to all registrants via e-mail in the hours leading up to the event.
To engage fully during the reception, you will need:
A laptop/computer (preferred) or smartphone
A webcam (optional)
A microphone, speakers or headphones (optional)
Zoom client installed on your device
Convocation is an important milestone for our students and in order to ensure an enjoyable experience for all, attendees are expected to adhere to our community guidelines.
Anyone who violates these guidelines or is disruptive during the event will be removed immediately and will not be readmitted into the Zoom event.
Be kind and respectful.
No profanity, hate speech or bullying. We want to make sure that everyone feels safe. Any inappropriate language and degrading comments about race, religion, culture, sexual orientation, gender, or identity will not be tolerated.
