The Previous Site Model
The previous www.SFU.ca site was a one page concept. In order to accommodate the various user groups (current students, prospective students, grad students, faculty, staff, administration etc) the site had to be filled with links to the various sub sites within www.sfu.ca. This had proved to be problematic in the sheer amount of links that had to be available directly off the home page.

The New Site Model
The new site model subdivides the excessive amount of links into manageable, smaller chunks of information. The interface for each sub set of links is visible and easily navigated, even with disability software. Instead of having all users depart to their desired destination from one page, the user is now funneled to a sub page where additional information can easily be provided about each and every link. Additionally, all topics which may also be of interest to a specific user group, such as 'faculty & staff' will be available and accessible for them to use. It makes sense to only provide what would be of interest to a specific slice of the target audience.
