2011 Staff Humanitarian Award

Candy Ho and John Grant (Student Services; Alumni Relations)

Both Candy and John are very involved in building community at SFU.  They are both SFU alumni, staff members and residents of UniverCity. Candy works in Student Services and John in Alumni Relations.

They established an annual student award to provide awards to two students each year that volunteer as orientation leaders mentoring new students to contribute to building community at SFU.

Candy’s motto embodies her vision that highlights every encounter she takes part in:  “creating community one thought at a time”.
