In accordance with the recent decision of the IAG Council to establish the International Council of Gerontology Student Organizations (IAG-ICGSO), Prof. Dr. Thunpuying Srichitra Bunnag, President of the Thai Society of Gerontology and Geriatric Medicine (TGG), asked 5 members of TGG to be an ad-hoc committee for locating the most suitable student to be a key person for establishing the student organization.  Ms. Daroonwan Chakraphan was selected and has become the President supported by a team of students that she has been working with.

The THAI Gerontology Student Organization has been organized under the name of Thai Youth Club for the Elderly (TYCE). It was officially established under the auspices of  TGG on October 11, 2002.   TYCE has its own logo which represents its major vision :  to educate Thai youth with the importance of caring and respecting the elderly, and also to encourage that vision among the international community.
