Police have not charged anyone, and have admitted they do now know the cause of the deceased's death.

"Honestly, right now, we're just gathering information. We will let you know more about the situation as it develops," Constable Lenaux of the RCMP told reporters late last night.

"I hadn't heard from him in a while," John's friend Peter Hutchins told the Province. "He hadn't even updated his blog, which is very unusual for him. I went to his house and found him on the ground."

John's blog (link) detailed his life in the months leading up to his unexpected death.

"It's going to be very strange not having him around any more."

When asked if he suspected foul play, Peter responded "No, he was pretty well liked. He didn't get into too much trouble and didn't have any enemies as far as I know. He was a pretty normal guy, I guess."

John's mother was understandly upset over the sudden death of her only son, and declined an interview. She did, however, answer a few quick questions via phone.

"John was an upstanding young man, he did not deserve to die so young. I can't understand why anyone would want to hurt him."

John held a series of jobs near his home. His manager and coworkers declined to comment, except for his good friend Peter, who also works there.

This is the first such case in 2007 where police have admitted they do not know whether the death was intentional, accidental, or natural.
