STUDIO

• In class Pitching your storyboard:

You will do a short (3-5 minute) pitch to the class in studiolab -- discussing the story idea. The goal here is to convey the idea to others. Spend only 1 minute with intro and summary, most of the time should be pitching your storyboards in realtime (storybaords should be on large paper or setup ready to go on the computer ( large images in sequence). You will be assessed by the following criteria:

1. Quality of the story idea. Story Quality
2. How well you conveyed you idea to the class. Your Pitch presentation.
3. How well your idea fits the production time and team. Doability

You must also post your storyboard on your team website by next week.

• If you haven't Finish the Maya tutorial in the Maya Program under Help: Tutorials

          Rendering
             Lesson 1 Rendering a scene
             Lesson 2 Shading surfaces
Lesson 3 Lights, shadows and camera

Finish your Assignment due this week (before tuesday midnight of week 7):

• Do your Port 3) Environment (Rendering) assignment
    (see assignments page for details).

To complete this assignment, you will be working with Rendering tools which include Lighting,
Materials and Camera, all tools which can enhance sensory affect in the visual 3D space while
creating an atmospheric environment and a sense of mood. Creatively explore how Rendering tools can be used in shaping and defining an environment (this could be indoor, or outdoor, or this could be an abstract space, such as a virtual environment). Include a few objects in your environment to define the space, and map some materials on these objects (ex: consider landscape and architecture, or sculptural forms; gravity, weight and volume).

Due for next week's class :

• Your Port 3) Environment assignment is due by classtime. It must be submitted via your published online portfolio. (see above or your assignments page for details)

• Continue working on your team's short planning.
