OVERVIEW:

SFU Volunteer Services is a new program area that offers services to students, faculty, staff, and community partners related to volunteerism and engaged citizenship. We offer workshops, volunteer postings, advising, news and information on a variety of topics. We are looking for some dynamic support to increase what we have to offer students!

PROJECT GOALS:

To direct students to appropriate volunteer and engaged citizenship resources and activities depending on their interests and skills.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Create a “choose your own adventure” activity that takes students through decisions related to their volunteerism and engaged citizenship interests. There are a variety of resources and activities that we promote to students depending what their interests are. We would like an interactive, online activity that students could go through step by step that would end off with a list of suggest resources or activities based on the answers provided by the students along the way. The activity should be visually appealing, fun and dynamic!

IMAGE[s] or URLs that exemplify project concept or research area

None that I know of! This is an opportunity for students to break ground!

ANY SPECIAL SKILLS REQUIRED (optional):

Students with an awareness of volunteerism and community engagement would be great, but not required. Note that the staff member supervising this project does not have advanced design or technical skills and the amount of staff project management would be minimal.
