Examples of Simple iIteractions

Iwai's Resonance of 4 is very simple, but looks great. It uses just mice but connects up the interaction of 4 people to create and compose music. Resonance of 4 (just using mice)

Iwai's Composition on Table is quite elegant. But it's simply a flat surface with regular pushbuttons on it... Each node is projected on top of one of the buttons, so from an observer's point of view it looks like a user is actually manipulating the graphics. Composition on the Table

ART+COM's Home and Exile uses only dials (simple pieces you can buy for 45 bucks... http://www.griffintechnology.com/products/powermate/) to navigate information: movie

Exhibitions work best when the interaction is simple and easy to pick up... for example, this piece simply remediates the typewriter: typewriter people can sit down and type to make an email happen (the interaction on this is simple, a student might be able to pull apart the typewriter, add a sensor to each main key, hook it up to Arduino and have the letter be projected on a wall... (only simple buttons are added to the mechanics of the machine).
