Application information
Step 1: To receive an IELTS Application Package:
Download both of these two (2) documents:

Include the correct spelling of your first and last name, complete mailing address, and allow 7-10 days for receipt of the package.
Step 2: Once the application form is completed:
Bring your completed application package in person to:

DO NOT mail your application to SFU Harbour Centre.
DO NOT fax your application to the IELTS Test Centre. Only original applications will be processed.
Incomplete applications will NOT be processed and will be returned by regular post.
Though there is no box provided, write your preferred LOCATIONS of the test beside or above the test dates you select. If you do not write a location, you will be assigned a space at the location with available seats.
Passport/Permanent Resident Card (PRC) required
Candidates must:
- supply a valid passport or PRC number on their application form
AND - attach a good quality photocopy of their PRC or passport page that contains a photo, passport number, and signature
Candidates must not wear glasses in the photographs they submit for IELTS registration
On the day of the test, candidates are required to show their PRC or passport (the same as listed on the application form) at Registration and throughout the day. Candidates who do not bring their passport /PRC will not be permitted to write the test.
NOTE: Please be advised that if you have sent your passport to an institution for renewal or other reasons, it is your responsibility to ensure you have your passport with you on test day.
Confirmation required
If you apply in person you will normally receive a confirmation letter at the same time.
If you send in your application by mail or courier you will receive an email confirmation letter stating registration details including test location and time. Confirmation by regular mail may also be made.
IMPORTANT: If you have not received a confirmation letter one (1) week before your test date, contact the Test Centre immediately at 778-782-5930 or send an email to ielts@sfu.ca.
Only those candidates who have received written confirmation will be allowed to take the test.
