ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING - CALL FOR PAPERS

The Annual General Conference of the BCPSA will be held Friday, May 1st and Saturday, May 2nd 2009 at Thomson Rivers University, Kamloops, British Columbia. Kamloops is located 3 1/2 hours by car or 50 minutes by plane northeast of Vancouver.

The theme for this yearbs conference is Comparing Political Perspectives.

In comparing political perspectives, the BCPSA welcomes papers from any theoretical perspective and across the breadth of the discipline.

Participation is open to all political scientists and others with a scholarly interest in politics. Participants from outside Canada are most welcome. Proposals and papers should be submitted to the conference organizer.

Graduate students are encouraged to attend the conference and give papers. Doctoral candidates may submit their proposals and papers directly to the conference organizer; MA students are asked to submit their proposals and papers through a supervising faculty member. The BCPSA is considered a relatively friendly venue for scholars young and old.

Announcements:

The BCPSA has entered into an agreement with the Policy Studies Organization and will participate in the PSO's journal Politics & Policy which will be distributed to all BCPSA members beginning in 2007.

The BCPSA is proud to announce the start-up of a new journal of Canadian political science research, the Canadian Political Science Review. The CPSR is co-sponsored by the BCPSA, the Western Canada PSA and the Atlantic Provinces PSA. All BCPSA members are encouraged to submit manuscripts for possible publication in the new journal.
