Welcome to our website. We are a group of three senior Engineering Science students at Simon Fraser University. In the summer semester of 2003, we enrolled in a special topics course (ENSC 494) studying MEMS (MicroElectroMechanical Systems) technology. Due to the backlash problems associated with pin joints, we were instructed to explore the behavior of different types of flexures using the PolyMUMPs technology. Our project goal was to produce precise and predictable movements with the flexures. We designed a test bench of flexures with varying design parameters. Incorporating flexure joints into MEMS designs is a relatively new concept and we hope our project could provide insights in this new area of research.
