Foreword to the Digital re-issue of
THE INDEPENDENT SCHOLAR'S HANDBOOK

by Ronald Gross

It is my pleasure to dedicate this re-issue of THE INDEPENDENT SCHOLAR'S HANDBOOK to Yosef Wosk and his colleagues at the Canadian Academy of Independent Scholars and at Simon Fraser University.

Their vision, their high competence, and their exacting execution, have made this volume available worldwide at no cost, for the enjoyment and benefit of any independent scholars who might find it serviceable.

They share my hope that the information in these pages may give fresh heart, hope, and help to all who pursue knowledge and understanding in whatever field.

We would warmly welcome hearing from you about your uses of the book, and we invite your attention to the websites and resources listed at the website of the Canadian Academy of Independent Scholars.

I wish you the exhilaration and the fulfillment which can only come from using your mind to the utmost!
