IS Major Program Declaration Requirements

Students are eligible to apply for entry into the International Studies major program after successfully completing 30 units, which must include IS 101, plus two of:

• IS 200 (required for Stream 1)
• IS 210 (required for Stream 2)
• IS 220 (required for Stream 3)
• IS 230

Applications should be made at the end of the term for entry into the major program. Criteria for selection are the student’s cumulative GPA and performance in IS courses.

The CGPA to enter the IS Major program for Spring 2012 is 3.0. This may increase in future terms.

Please submit the application form electronically to intst@sfu.ca, along with a copy of your SFU advising transcript with the FINAL GRADES of courses you take in the latest term, sorted by "both" (download from sis.sfu.ca).

In the Subject Line of the email, indicate the following information in the order specified: Major Application, Term, Applicant Name, Student Number. Please note that incomplete applications will not be considered.

The next application deadline is August 21, 2012 (for Summer 2012).

IS Minor Program Declaration Requirements

Students are eligible to apply after completing the lower division requirements of the International Studies Minor program. Send your request to intst@sfu.ca, along with a copy of your SFU advising transcript, sorted by "both" (download from sis.sfu.ca) anytime of the year. Be sure to specify your intended stream.

The CGPA to enter the IS Minor program in Spring 2012 is 2.5. This may increase in future terms.

IS Honours Program Declaration Requirements
