Venture Connection
Launched in the Fall of 2008, Venture Connection offers training and support programs for SFU's entrepreneurs, linking student, faculty and local entrepreneurs with experienced advisors, funding opportunities, and other business connections.. Our key objectives are to:
- Develop a strong entrepreneurial culture throughout the university
- Increase the number of faculty and student spin-off companies
- Accelerate early stage businesses on- and off- campus
Venture Connection builds on SFU’s reputation as one of the top North American universities in terms of creating spin-off companies, and ties in with the Faculty of Business’ new undergraduate concentration in Entrepreneurship. The initiative is the result of a collaborative partnership among academic, research, and supporting units, including the Innovation Office, SFU-Surrey, SIFE-SFU and academic units including Business Administration, together with advice and support from committed successful entrepreneurs in our community. By combining forces we are able to create broader awareness of the many opportunities offered to nurture and assist individual entrepreneurs and companies at SFU, as well as identify new sources of funding to support these programs.
