Vanessa Udy

L.L.M. Student 

Vanessa is a lawyer whose practice has focused on commercial transactions and intellectual property. She obtained her bachelor in civil and common law from McGill University in 2008 and was called to the Quebec Bar in 2009. She is currently pursuing a master's in Aboriginal law.

Vanessa is particularly interested in questions concerning cultural identities. She has published on the use of intellectual property laws by Indigenous groups as a means of cultural survival. She is a co-founder of Québec inclusif, an organization promoting the respect and inclusion of minority groups in Quebec society. She also volunteers with organizations promoting child welfare, women's rights and access to justice.
