Anne Pyburn and Aida Abykanova discuss heritage, archaeology, and identity in Kyrgyzstan, and chat about their IPinCH-supported project, Grassroots Resource Preservation and Management in Kyrgyzstan.

"Now we are thinking about heritage as a living heritage; we try to protect the intention of people to care for [heritage] because it's part of their life and it will be part of their future." 

 
Anne Pyburn is Professor of Anthropology at Indiana University and an IPinCH team member. Aida Abykanova is Associate Professor in the Department of Anthropology at the American University of Central Asia and a key member of the "Grassroots Resource Preservation and Management in Kyrgyzstan" project.
