5th ISG Gerontechnology Master Class
Simon Fraser University and Marriott Pinnacle Hotel, Vancouver, BC
May 27-30, 2010
Co-sponsored by the British Columbia Network for Aging Research and the CIHR-Institute of Aging
Theme: Technologies for Active Aging
The 5th ISG Gerontechnology Master Class provides a unique opportunity for emerging researchers at the Masters, Doctoral, and New Investigator level who are currently conducting or planning to conduct research in the area of aging and technology to interact for several days with international experts. The focus will be on your ideas - as reflected in a poster that you will bring to the class. The experts (or "Masters") will provide feedback on your work, encouraging you to view the project described in your poster from many angles and planes; from theoretical and methodological perspectives that you might not have thought of before. The objectives are cross-fertilization and to maximize the impact of your work.
The Master Class will begin at Simon Fraser University’s downtown Vancouver campus at 8:30 am on Thursday, May 27. At 6:00 p.m. participants will transfer to the Marriott Pinnacle Hotel for the opening of the 7th World Conference of the International Society for Gerontechnology. On May 28, 29th and the morning of May 30, Master Class participants will take part in the ISG conference. The Master class will resume on the afternoon of May 30th, concluding at 5:00 pm with the Masters’ and Participants’ choice of the “Best Gerontechnology Posters” and why.
