Module Abstract
This
graduate module introduces 3D animation concepts while immersing the
learners in a team based, interdisciplinary animation project. The learners
will create and update an in-house standalone animation resource (see
movement.stanford.edu/facade)
that will be available to the school and future classes.
Course
Objectives
-
Apply project oriented techniques to implement a permanent 3D animation
resource (website, documentation, 3D facial system, demonstrations,
examples) for SFU and the animation community.
-
Compare, contrast and critique 3D animation techniques including
key
framing, performance based animation, voice analysis and lip sync,
and
parametric control that have been implemented in film, games, virtual
worlds, and the web.
-
Evaluate the contributions of team members in the development project.
- Select,
research and apply an area of specialization in 3D animation techniques
as part of the project planning of the development of the TechBC
facial animation resource.
CMS
and WebX
We will not be using the CMS for this class, instead we will be using
this website. We will be using the web crossing class discussion boards
( called webX). Those borads and discussion will be linked from this
site.

Class Related Questions
Use the general Q&A web board to ask questions general to how the
class operates. Other discussion boards have to do with specific course
related discussions.
