Tips and Issues
Can't access SFU Connect using Internet Explorer 10
SFU Connect may not load for some IE10 users. The recommend work around is to access the IE10 browser from your desktop and login to connect.sfu.ca, click on the "Compatibility View" icon (the ripped paper icon that appears in the address bar). Once you've selected the "Compatibility View", the icon should appear blue. Return to connect.sfu.ca and you should be logged in.
Error messages when trying to access SFU Connect
If error messages appear when trying to access or navigate within SFU Connect, try clearing your browser's cache, cookies, and temporary files, then refresh your browser. View instructions on how to clear your cache in Internet Explorer.
When using Internet Explorer, sometimes keystrokes are missed
Some Internet Explorer users are finding that keystrokes are missing when composing messages in a new window. The recommended workaround is to compose only in a new tab. To do this, go to Preferences > Mail > Composing and uncheck "Always compose in a new window".
Can't find documents that existed in "Documents" tab
The Documents tab is no longer available as of the upgrade. Existing documents have been moved to a folder labeled "Notebook" in the Briefcase tab, along with all of their versions.
Can't copy address "bubbles"
To copy addresses within messages or appointments, there are two options:
Option 1) Double click on the address bubble and it will change to text. Copy and paste the address.
Option 2) Turn off address bubbles by going to Preferences > General and uncheck "Show email addresses in bubbles (takes effect the next time you view or compose a message)". Click "Save" near the top left of the page to confirm the change.
A request has been submitted to the vendor for the ability to temporarily disable bubbles for a collection of email addresesses within a message. See Bugs and Feature Requests for more information.
Font size is too small
To adjust the font size, use your browser's zoom function. In many browsers, this is done by navigating to the View menu, then choose the option to zoom in. For Internet Explorer users, please ensure that your status bar is turned on. If you need assistance, contact your department's technical support staff or IT Services Help.
A request has been submitted to the vendor for the ability to change the font size. See Bugs and Feature Requests for more information.
When replying to a message, signature is not attached
If, prior to the upgrade, your signature was automatically included in message to which you are replying, go to Preferences > Signatures and click "Save".
When adding attendees to within the Calendar Scheduler, the free/busy sometimes isn't accurate or disappears
Rather than adding attendees within the Calendar Scheduler, adding attendees to the "Attendees" field is recommended. There is an existing bug report associated with adding attendees within the Calendar Scheduler. See Bugs and Feature Requests for more information.
Other known issues (reported to vendor)
To view a list of other known issues that have been reported to the vendor, see Bugs and Feature Requests.
