Fees
Below is a list of charges for purchases of equipment or services on FASNet:
Backup Charges
The Research Computing Group performs daily backups on department directories and user filesystem. Backups are kept for up to 3 years. The daily backup charges for individual’s are per filesystem.

For large filesystem backups, or other situations (such as having the RCG back up your data to tape for the cost of the tape), email gripe@fas.sfu.ca with details about your needs.
Disk Space
Fiber channel disk space is available on our Sun NAS server. The disk space is on fiber channel disks setup in a RAID 5 with hot spare. The cost is $10 per gigabyte of usable space. Please email gripe@fas.sfu.ca for other disk space options available on FASnet.
Matlab Software
The RCG manages concurrent licenses for MathWork’s Matlab software and toolboxes. Please email gripe@fas.sfu.ca for the cost of purchasing Matlab software or toolboxes.
X Win 32 PC X server software
The RCG has some X-Win 32 Cross Connect licenses available. The X Win 32 software allows Windows workstations to run graphical software from Solaris or Linux computers.
