Gripe / Helpdesk
To report a computer or network problem on FASnet, please send an e-mail to gripe@fas.sfu.ca providing the minimum required information:
- Your full name and the name of your computer account
- The name of school and Lab that you belong to
- The name of your supervisor / account sponsor
- The name of the computer you are using (the full hostname, ending in .sfu.ca)
- The operating system on the computer (Windows, Mac OS X, Linux)
- The location of the computer (room number)
- A complete and detailed description of the problem. We want to know:
- When you noticed the problem
- How often it occurs (always, intermittently, just once)
- Whether it is reproducible or not (and the steps to do so)
Please understand that your e-mail must be sent from a SFU e-mail address. Otherwise it will be discarded since we will not be able to indentify you!

Your can also submit your service request to the FASuser queue on the gripe web page at https://gripe.fas.sfu.ca.
