Managed Print Services
SFU has recently awarded Konica Minolta a 5-year contract to provide multi-function copiers, printers and a managed print service for all SFU campuses.
Konica Minolta was chosen as the vendor whose proposed solutions best met SFU’s objectives of reducing costs, administrative effort, energy and paper consumption, and environmental impact.
A project has been established to install and implement the new devices and services.
The SFU Managed Print Services (MPS) project has the following objectives.
- Phase out the current Toshiba copiers and replace with Konica Minolta Multi Function Devices (MFDs).
- Provide a streamlined method of charging for copies and for network print jobs.
- Establish the MFD management process with Konica Minolta.
- Optimize the SFU MFD/printer/copier fleet to ensure it is properly utilized and meets needs.
- Redirect print jobs from more costly printers to the MFDs.
- Promote paper conservation by encouraging deliberate and appropriate use of copiers and printers.
