SFU faculty and staff (including retirees) can purchase an SFU-branded edition of the SofTel softphone, an application that lets you use your Mac or PC as a full-featured telephone. This means that if you are travelling abroad, you can make phone calls to local numbers as if you were next door!

Additionally, you can also get your own inward dialing number so that your friends, familiy or colleagues can dial you directly from a conventional land-line.
