Wi-Fi Replacement and Expansionget help

We heard you! A university-wide Wi-Fi replacement and expansion project began this fall.

The SFU community requires more advanced Wi-Fi network, as teaching, learning and researching technologies have grown in standards and scale. With this replacement and expansion project, Wi-Fi across the university will be improved to support the emerging technologies, such as smartphones, cloud storage and streaming services, and possible future needs.

Major benefits for the SFU community include:

  • Enhanced Wi-Fi reliability and performance
  • Expanded Wi-Fi coverage
  • Wireless guest networking  


Check out our schedule to learn when Wi-Fi replacement and expansion will be implemented in your area. This schedule will be updated on a bi-weekly basis. 48 hours notice of an outage will be provided via email to IT Services staff, departmental IT support staff, and internal and external customers as applicable.
