We heard you! A university-wide Wi-Fi replacement and expansion project began this fall.
The SFU community requires more advanced Wi-Fi network, as teaching, learning and researching technologies have grown in standards and scale. With this replacement and expansion project, Wi-Fi across the university will be improved to support the emerging technologies, such as smartphones, cloud storage and streaming services, and possible future needs.
Major benefits for the SFU community include:
- Enhanced Wi-Fi reliability and performance
- Expanded Wi-Fi coverage
- Wireless guest networking
Check out our schedule to learn when Wi-Fi replacement and expansion will be implemented in your area. This schedule will be updated on a bi-weekly basis. 48 hours notice of an outage will be provided via email to IT Services staff, departmental IT support staff, and internal and external customers as applicable.
