Would you like to participate in language research and get paid for doing so? Many of our current research projects are recruiting participants. Each experiment pays $10 per hour of participation (varying between 1-2 hours per session).

January-April 2012: Recruiting Native Speakers of Cantonese, Thai, Mandarin, and Yoruba
WHO: Native Speakers of Thai, Mandarin, Cantonese, and Yoruba
- Native Speakers of Cantonsese Raised in Hong Kong
- Under 5 years of musical experience
- Native speaker of Cantonese
- 18-40 years old
- Normal speech and hearing
- Native Speakers of Thai Raised in Bangkok
- Under 5 years of musical experience
- Native speaker of Thai
- 18-40 years old
- Normal speech and hearing
- Native Speakers of Yoruba Raised in Nigeria
- Under 5 years of musical experience
- Native speaker of Yoruba
- 18-40 years old
- Normal speech and hearing
- Native Speakers of Mandarin Raised in Beijing

WHAT: Participants will fill out a music & language questionnaire and may listen to sounds in a quiet room, press buttons, and move a computer mouse.
HOW LONG: 1 to 3 60-90 minute sessions

WHO: Native speakers of Mandarin or English
- 5 – 18 months of Japanese learning experience
- right-handed, non-musician
WHAT: Listen to some words and then respond by clicking buttons on a computer.
HOW LONG: 1 hour.

Recruiting Native Speakers of English

WHAT: Evaluate short video and sound clips and respond by clicking buttons on a computer
HOW LONG: 1 hour x 3 sessions

Recruiting Musicians for EEG Study
FULL - THANK YOU FOR YOUR INTEREST
WHO: Native speakers of Mandarin or English
- at least 6 years of musical training, some within the last 5 years
- right-handed
WHAT: EEG study; watch a movie and listen to tones while wearing an EEG net recording your brain waves
HOW LONG: 2 hours
