Research Interests

My areas of general interest are affective and developmental neuroscience. In relation to the first, I am interested in how human emotions interact with cognitive systems, in particular attention and frontal executive functions, in order to accomplish emotional self-regulation (in healthy people), and to explain disturbed emotional homeostasis in clinical depression and anxiety disorders. My second area of expertise and research investigates how normal development and psychopathology affect cognitive functions, in particular attention and executive control, especially in accounting for symptoms of Attention Deficit-Hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
