GETTING THERE

Burnaby LangDev Lab Directions

Driving

Parents Arriving by Vehicle (Free Parking)

For those driving up to SFU, follow these instructions to designated participant parking. A Google maps link can be found here

Please call when you arrive and a lab member will meet you in the parking lot. We will need your license plate number in advance to register for free parking. Please ensure you do this at least a day ahead of time, as parking enforcement at SFU is pretty zealous! Call us at: 778 782 3955

1. Follow Gaglardi Way past Campus information and through the transportation center.

2. Turn right onto University Drive. Follow University Drive just pass the Diamond Alumni Centre.

3. From here you have to turn right into the lane right before Arts Road. Follow the lane into the psychology subjects parking area.

Alternate Parking

If this lot is full: go back out and turn onto Arts Road to North Parking Lot. The psychology subjects parking area which are near the entrance of the lot along the right hand side.

Transit

SFU is served by four bus routes: the R5 B-line (formerly 95), 143, 144, and 145. Please ride any of these buses to the end of the line (upper bus loop) and enter Blusson Hall. Please wait at the circular bench inside Blusson Hall.

Please call when you arrive and a lab member will meet you to walk you the rest of the way to the lab.

Students: Burnaby LangDev Lab  

Directions to the LangDev Lab for SFU Students

Our main lab is located on SFU's Burnaby campus, in Robert C. Brown Hall (RCB 7410). For those familiar with SFU's layout, here are directions to our lab if you start near the Images Theatre in the AQ building.

1. Start by finding the Images Theatre on SFU's campus.

2. Now go to the lowest level of the AQ building, and walk to the window overlooking the pond.

3. Enter the RCB Building by walking down the hallway with a view to the pond on your right side.

4. When you encounter a set of doors with the sign "Languages," then walk through and turn right.

5. Continue to walk down this hallway, passing through a number of doorways until you reach the end. We are located in RCB 7410 on the right side!

Students: Burnaby Common Research Lab

Directions to the Common Research Lab (CRL) for SFU Students

The Linguistics Department has a Common Research Lab (CRL), where we run some of our studies, which is located in Robert C. Brown Hall (RCB) 7301.  

1. Start by finding the Images Theatre on SFU's campus.

2. Now go to the lowest level of the AQ building, and walk to the window overlooking the pond.

3. Enter the RCB Building by walking down the hallway with a view to the pond on your right side.

4. When you encounter a set of doors with the sign "Languages," then walk through and turn right.

5. When you come to a set of doors with the sign "Language Learning Center," go through them and turn right immediately.

6. Knock on the door with the sign "Phonetics Laboratory Entrance" and someone will open it for you. If the door is open, just come right in.

Surrey LangDev Lab Directions

TRANSIT

1. Get off the skytrain at Surrey Central Station. Head towards Central City Mall and enter from the north side of the mall. 

2. Enter and go up to Simon Fraser University’s main lobby on floor 2 (escalator and elevator available)
 

3. Wait close to the elevators directly across the lobby and a research assistant will come down to meet you.

DRIVING

1. Park at Surrey Central Mall on level 3 of the parkade. Walk towards the Simon Fraser University building and find the exterior elevators. Take the elevator down to the main lobby on floor 2. 

2. Wait in the lobby outside the elevators and a research assistant will come down to meet you.
