In partnership with two surgeons and another engineer, she developed a patented artificial hip and knee joint system for the treatment of infected artificial joints. The invention was licensed to Dupuy Inc., now a division of Johnson and Johnson, in 1999.

In addition to assisting aspiring medical device inventors push products through the early stages of commercialization; Nancy is also involved in developing applied R&D niches in assistive device development, biotechnology, health technology management, and occupational health and safety.

Areas of expertise
Nancy has expertise in all phases of medical device development including conceptual development, prototyping, lab and clinical testing, regulatory affairs and medical and assistive device evaluation. Lastly, Nancy has experience in building long-term partnerships with organizations and institutions with similar goals and objectives.
