Silvia Raschke, Phd Project Leader BCIT Technology Centre Tel: (604) 412-7597 Fax: (604) 435-51536 E-mail: silvia_raschke@bcit.ca Silvia has been working with the Technology Centre on a part-time basis since 1989. She has a PhD in Prosthetics and Orthotics from the Strathclyde University Faculty of Engineering, (Scotland) and is a Canadian Certified Orthotist. As Program Head of BCIT's Prosthetics and Orthotics Program Silvia splits her time between research and teaching. She is also the Principle Investigator for the Centre for Rehabilitation Engineering and Technology that Enables, known as CREATE. Silvia's main area of expertise is the effect of device design on functional outcome and biomechanics. In the past she has also worked on CAD/CAM applications for prosthetics and orthotics. When not at work Silvia enjoys gardening, reading, classical music and spending time with her family. |
