RESOURCES + OPERATIONAL UPDATES

WINTER BREAK RESOURCES

Winter break is coming to SFU, which means reduced services from December 25 through January 2. During the break, there are resources in place to keep you supported and safe, as well as festive events to keep you connected.

The Lorne Davies Complex on Burnaby campus is slated to undergo renovation work starting early next year. In addition to necessary seismic, mechanical and ventilation work, renovations will include updated change rooms, a refinished pool deck and a new wresting training room. The project will require closure of parts of the complex as work is completed. Swing space will be constructed to ensure regular programming continues for Athletics and Recreation Services, and lockers will be relocated during the renovations. The central gym, west gym, fitness centre and stadium will not be included in this renovation work and will remain open during the renovation project. Stay tuned for more updates.

This fall, SFU and the TSSU resumed collective bargaining negotiations following the September 15th arbitration decision from Arbitrator Jim Dorsey. This work is a priority for SFU, and the university is hopeful that a final agreement can be reached with the TSSU early in the new year. Read more about the recent activities and next steps as the two parties work toward a first collective agreement.

Please note that the last What's On newsletter of this year will be delivered to you on Tuesday, December 20. Submissions will be accepted until 12 p.m. on Friday, December 16
