NEW BLENDED COURSE FORMAT PROVIDES MORE FLEXIBILITY

Beginning this month, the new format combines in-person components with asynchronous online components that replace a significant amount of in-person class time. The alternative course delivery aims to provide greater flexibility for students and instructors without sacrificing the connection of in-person instruction. SFU SURREY GAMES LOUNGE PROVIDES COMMUNITY CONNECTION

Come for the games, stay for the connection: now more than ever, students need a safe place to reconnect with their peers. In this staff-and-student-run initiative, the SFU Surrey Games Lounge transforms the Mezzanine into a vibrant space for students to connect and de-stress in a safe way.

RESOURCES + OPERATIONAL UPDATES

ARE YOU WEARING YOUR MASK PROPERLY?

Properly wearing your mask is one of the many layers of protection that can help prevent the spread of COVID-19. Wear a properly-fitted, three-layer mask and wash or sanitize your hands before putting on your mask and after taking it off. Your mask should fit snugly and comfortably over the mouth and nose, with no gaps around the face.

Masks are currently required in all public indoor spaces in B.C. Community members in need of a mask can pick one up at Student Central in Burnaby and at the security desks in Vancouver and Surrey.

TOOLS FOR WELL-BEING IN THE CLASSROOM

Sign up to get access to a toolkit of strategies designed to support student well-being in learning environments and classes, try out an activity in your class, and send out a student survey to evaluate their impact. Interested but want more information? Drop by online sessions on Monday, January 31, 3:30pm PST or Tuesday, February 8, 10:00am PST to learn more.
