SUPPORTING INDIGENOUS COMMUNITY MEMBERS AT SFU

Yesterday, the Pope made a formal apology on behalf of the Catholic Church for the forced assimilation of Indigenous children at residential schools. The apology addresses one of the 94 Calls to Action outlined in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission's 2015 report.

This is an emotional time for many Indigenous members of the SFU community, and a time to come together and reflect. Please take care of yourselves and reach out if you need help. For faculty and staff, support is available through the Employee and Family Assistance Program, and students can access support through the Indigenous Student Centre.
