RESOURCES + OPERATIONAL UPDATES

HOW CAN WE KEEP OUR VALUABLES SAFE?

Personal item theft is the number one reported crime at post-secondary institutions, including SFU.

Don't leave valuables unattended, report suspicious activity to Campus Public Safety and personalize your devices to make them less valuable. If we all do our part, we can reduce theft and continue to create a culture of safety and care at SFU.

The Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Advisory Council is currently seeking expressions of interest for participation in the 2023-24 year. The council is a pan-university group composed of students, faculty and staff members, providing advice and guidance to strengthen SFU’s commitment to fostering inclusive environments and equitable opportunities for all.

Representation from people who experience oppression is deeply important to this work and we encourage applications from community members who identify as a Black, Indigenous or racialized person; LGBTQ2+ or a person with a disability. To ensure the council represents voices from across the university, community members from the Vancouver and Surrey campuses are also invited to apply.

Please submit your expression of interest by March 27.

Nominations are now being accepted until Friday, March 31.

The Nora and Ted Sterling Prize in Support of Controversy looks for candidates who are doing work that challenges complacency. The award recipient is selected for decidedly unconventional and distinctly untraditional work that provokes a wide audience.
