SFU engineering science professor Michael Adachi and a multidisciplinary team from physics as well as biomedical physiology and kinesiology are collaborating to develop sensors that detect disease using cytokine biomarkers. It is important to note that the strike vote does not yet mean that TSSU is currently on strike. To move negotiations ahead productively, SFU has applied for mediation at the BC Labour Relations Board and will update the community on the results as it progresses. PURCELL STRING QUARTET RECORDS COME TO SFU |
From 1972-1982, the Purcell String Quartet was the quartet-in-residence at SFU. They gave “peripatetic concerts” on campus, contributed to dance and theatre events, and worked with R. Murray Schafer and other local composers. And now, through the work of Frances Dodd, their records have been added to the Archives’ holdings and are available to anyone interested in an important chapter in the history of Canadian music. |

SFU has started construction on the First Peoples’ Gathering House on Burnaby campus, located east of the Trottier Observatory.
To create a sense of excitement for this project and honour the knowledge, teachings and practices of Indigenous peoples, the university is looking to incorporate visual expressions based on the theme of Walking in Two Worlds.
The invitation for visual expressions is open to creations or collaborations by all self-identified Indigenous (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) prospective students, current students and alumni.
