Since its opening just over two years ago, the biomass energy centre has reduced SFU’s Burnaby campus carbon footprint by 85 per cent (or 11,600 tCO2e annually). CELEBRATING PATRICK SMITH'S 40 YEARS AT SFU

With his retirement on January 1st, SFU's Department of Political Science recognizes the career and contributions of Patrick J. Smith—known to everyone as Paddy. A TRIBUTE TO RON CLIFF

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Ron Cliff, SFU Convocation Founder and cherished friend of SFU, who passed away in December.

Ron was also a Distinguished Community Leadership Award recipient and an SFU donor who supported the building of the School for the Contemporary Arts in the Goldcorp Centre for the Arts.

This accreditation by the Economic Developer's Association of Canada holds great value for both the Community Economic Development (CED) program and its graduates. Ryan Watmough, the program director of SFU CED, shared his enthusiasm for the field and provided insight on the significance of community involvement in economic development. He also mentioned that SFU CED is the only post-secondary BC institution that is recognized for economic development training.
