HEALTH SCIENCES MASTER'S STUDENT DEVELOPS NEW STUDY ON HIV SUBTYPES IN GHANA

Up-to-date information on HIV diversity, subtype distribution, drug resistance and coreceptor usage is critical to guide HIV treatment, inform vaccine design and curative strategies. In Ghana, however, the last HIV drug resistance survey per WHO guidelines occurred in 2013. MSc student Anna Appah has conducted a first-of-its-kind study addressing these knowledge gaps.

 

SFU MARINE BIOLOGIST TAKES ON 4,800 KM RACE

Why was the 2021 snowmelt runoff in California 60 per cent lower than predicted? New models by SFU geography researchers show how prolonged drought can affect spring streamflow, even in years of abundant snowfall.

February 24 | Hosted by SFU Students of Caribbean and African Ancestry

It is a night of celebrating African and Caribbean culture, food, and music and acknowledging important people in the Black Community at SFU. Among the many highlights of this event will be West and East African and Caribbean cuisine, along with live performances by Black Artists.

 

February 24 | Hosted by SFU Beedie School of Business

In this session, the managing partner of Altura Partners, Simon Commander, and the London School of Economics professor, Saul Estrin, will discuss their recent book, The Connections World: The Future of Asian Capitalism. They will also focus on the important issues of modern times, such as how Asia has grown and developed and what its prospects are for the future.
