SFU ALUMNI SHOWCASED IN BC BUSINESS MAGAZINE'S PRESTIGIOUS TOP 30 UNDER 30 LIST

BC Business magazine recently announced its annual list of young business leaders. The list features six SFU alumnae and also highlights how growing involvement in SFU's entrepreneurship programs initiate entrepreneurial success.

NURTURING KNOWLEDGE

A group of SFU Education graduates recently had an opportunity to create a legacy gift. They unanimously voted to provide for books for a school library and in late June, they delivered a collection of books to enrich the Edmonds Community School library in Burnaby.

NEW PROFESSOR'S WORK QUANTIFIES DISCRIMINATION IMPACTS ON HEALTH EQUITY

Faculty of Health Sciences associate professor João Luiz Bastos has been shifting perspectives in public health and life for most of his academic career. His research explores health effects of racism and racial discrimination, racial classification and racial health inequities as well as the effects of racism on access to and provision of quality healthcare.

Each year the Faculty of Science celebrates faculty, staff and students making a difference in the community and helping to shape public policy. Nominations for the Excellence in Science Public Engagement and Outreach Award are open until August 15, 2023.

FREE PIPE BAND CONCERT

July 30 | Hosted by SFU Pipe Band and the Robert Malcolm Memorial Pipe Band

Attend a unique concert before the band heads to Scotland to compete at the World Pipe Band Championships in August. This event will be held outdoors at the Burnaby Campus (Academic Quadrangle area) from 11:00 a.m. to noon.
