Andrew Poelstra, an SFU Department of Mathematics alumnus, was recently profiled on Math Central's "Mathematics With Human Face" page

Math Central is an internet-based resource for teachers and students of mathematics. Under the direction of Dr. Harley Weston, Professor Emeritus of Mathematics, the University of Regina, Math Central has earned several awards, including the Study Sphere Award of Excellence.

Andrew graduated in 2013. During Summer 2013 as a recipient of an VPR research award Andrew worked on the project entitled "Classification of Four-Poit Diversities." In 2012, Andrew was a holder of a USRA award and worked on the project entitled "Stochastic Partial Differential Equations and Numerical Analysis." Both projects were done under the supervision of Dr. Paul Tupper. In addition, Andrew was a member of the IRMACS Ramsey Theory Working Group.
