The Math Catcher Program visited Bayview Elementary School in Nanaimo, BC, on October 16, 2012. Our host was Ms. Jennifer Stringer.
Stephani Monkman, Alejandro Erickson, and Veselin Jungic held two sessions. The first group of 40 students was composed of students from Grades 5-7. In the second group there were 38 studnets from Grades 3 and 4. The students were very engaged and they asked Stephani, Alejandro, and Veselin many questions about mathematics, science, and what it was like to study at Simon Fraser University.
Ms. Connie Kulhavy, District Aboriginal Resource Coordinator for SD 68, joined us for one of the presentations.
