Qubit
The Invitrogen Qubit 2.0 fluorometer is located in SSB7150 and is taken care of by the MBB Equipment Technician.
The benchtop Invitrogen Qubit 2.0 fluorometer is designed to quantify DNA, RNA, and protein with as little as 1ul of sample. Using Qubit assay dyes that fluoresce when selectively bound to DNA, RNA, or protein, the instrument reports only the concentration of the molecule of interest and not the contaminants, allowing for very accurate results. And the quantitation is fast, less than 5 seconds per sample (with sample incubation times of 2 minutes for DNA and RNA, and 15 minutes for protein.)
