Nanodrop ND-1000 Spectrophotometer

The NanoDrop ND-1000 spectrophotometer is is taken care of by the MBB Manager, Laboratory Operations. The ND-1000 has an associated computer so in order to use the spec, please contact the Manager (details below) to gain access via SFU ID and password.

User Manual (Equipment)

The NanoDrop ND-1000 is a microvolume UV/vis spectrophotometer, with pedestal. Its small sample requirement and ease of use makes the instrument well suited for measuring concentration and purity of DNA, RNA, and protein samples. 

Specifications include:

  • 220 - 750 nm wavelength measurement range.
  • 1 - 2 ul sample volume.
  • No sample dilution required. 
  • Has measurement range from 2 - 3,700 ng/ul dsDNA, up to 2,400 ng/ul ssDNA, up to 3,000 ng/ul RNA, and 0.1 - 100 mg/ml protein (BSA).
  • Has pre-configured methods for DNA, Protein A280, Protein and Labels, Pierce 660, Bradford, BCA, and Lowry.
