The IMBB occupies the major part of a new building opened in 1993. In addition to pleasant research laboratories, there are shared equipment rooms and common facilities including constant temperature rooms, photographic darkrooms, marine holding facilities, journal reading room, meeting rooms, lounges, and a computer room including PC, MacIntosh, and Unix computers and software. The IMBB is well equipped and has DNA synthesis and sequencing equipment, a phosphorimager, and a photomicroscopy suite including a confocal laser scanning microscope, and microinjection area. A 600 mHz NMR spectrometer was recently installed.
