MPP 2011 alumnus Ian Anderson, and MPP 2012 candidates Scott Ireson and Joey Chopra presented at the inaugural Think Again! Graduate Student conference October 22nd, 2011 at the Halpern Centre on SFU’s Burnaby Campus.

2009 MPP graduate Caitlin Cooper made the front page of the local Vancouver publication The Georgia Strait recently with an article featuring her capstone research on “Creating a Transit Generation: The Effect of the U-Pass on Lifelong Transit Use” which reveals for the first time that U-Pass holders are likely to continue using public transit after their student days are over.

The Public Policy Program proudly announces Matthew Sharp (MPP 2010) as one of the winners of the 2008 Canada West Foundation Student Essay Contest.

Students enroled in western post-secondary institutions were asked to submit essays answering the question "Should Canada switch to a system of proportional representation?" The best undergraduate and graduate essays were each awarded $5000.

The winning graduate essay was: Shared Destiny: A Common Sense Approach to Strengthening Canada Through Proportional Representation by Matthew Sharp of Simon Fraser University's Public Policy Program.
