Biography

Roderick Quiney is a retired federal public servant and Adjunct Professor with the School of Public Policy at Simon Fraser University. Rod began his career as a research scientist, obtaining a Ph.D. in Experimental Space Science followed by an M.B.A. He worked for ten years in the aerospace industry in engineering and marketing management before joining the government. In Ottawa, he held positions with the National Research Council, the Privy Council Office, the Department of Communications, and the Department of Indian Affairs and Northern Development, as well as an assignment with the House of Commons during the 1991 Constitutional round. Rod joined Revenue Canada in 1992 as Director General of the Business Number project. In 1999 he was named Deputy Assistant Commissioner, Service and Innovation, Canada Customs and Revenue Agency. His last assignment with the Canada Revenue Agency was Assistant Commissioner, Pacific Region.
