SFU Neuroscience includes a growing community of elite researchers from diverse fields including Biology, Biomedical Physiology, Engineering, Kinesiology, Linguistics, and Psychology. There is a strong focus on translational research with areas of strength in neuroimaging, neurobiology of development and disease, and sensorimotor control and neuroplasticity. Our research strives to better understand and develop novel treatments for a variety of neurological conditions, such as Alzheimer’s disease, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, autism spectrum disorder, eye disease, and Parkinson’s disease, as well as conditions associated with mental health and addiction.
