Have you ever wondered what it is like to work in an occupation but was not sure about it? With the co-op program at SFU, you can do just that. With terms of employment typically being 4-8 months, this is plenty of time for you to see what it is to work in a particular occupation and help with your career decisions. Not only is this a good experience for you as a student, you also get paid! The rates for co-op students are quite competitive, and beat working at various part time jobs.

With all the career choices out there, students are overwhelmed by more choices then ever. Co-op can be a very good option for students not only to get valuable work experience, but to try out something that you are interested in and see if this is something for you. It is important to know what you want to do for a career, because once you are established in a field it is quite difficult to make a switch.

It is easy to register for the co-op program and get started. All that you need to do is have enough credits, which is usually after your second year and have resumes and cover letters, which career peers can help you with!
