Reflecting on your Summer

Reflecting on your Summer
The summer has almost come to an end and it’s time to get ready for the start of another semester. Summer brought you challenges and opportunities that you could learn a lot about yourself as well as about the world around you. Now, before you embrace the upcoming hectic fall semester, it’s time to slow down and reflect on your summer activities. Whether you participated in a summer internship, travelled internationally or had a part-time babysitting job, they all are classified as learning experiences.
So, consider asking the following questions and take the time to record your responses for future review:
- What did I see that was different or unfamiliar?
- Who did I meet?
- What do I feel about what I saw or experienced?
- Was there anything really difficult about this situation? If so, why?
- How has this experience changed me?
Summarize the most important things you will take with your from this experience.
Through this questioning process you may discover something new about yourself such as: identifying transferable skills you developed, creating new areas of interest and much more! So, I challenge you to make the most out of your summer experiences by visiting your personalized ‘reflection pond’.
